Dearest You,

This is a challenging time in S.A with the xenophobic attacks, and some of the scenes that have being viewed are really surreal. I am optimistic that voice of reason, words of inspiration, and action of creation - will prevail and succeed!

If this to continues; think about a team like Orlando Pirates that has an upcoming match in Africa - Think about the next time a South African Team or a National Team has a match in Africa!

Think about the values, the ethos and the philosophy late president Madiba stood for, and live for, and strived for! Even if it is just for a minute, think about that!

The sense of belonging in the eyes, personified in voice – the broken and shattered spirit, standing in remnants of what-once-was; a life, a livelihood, a home, innocence - while searching for the familiarity of embracing eyes. This day is enshrined to the heart and mind for a generation, and a generations’ generation and this day would live forever told from generation to generation.

 

The hope for a place to call home, searching for a place to belong, across thousands of kilometres, leaving all the familiarity behind – the family, friends, loved and dearest ones. The strange and a vast new land became a home, while remembering the distance of being away from family, friends and the loved and dearest ones, while taking recognition of each and every passing moment, almost overwhelming at times.

Dearest: I am really sorry to all the respective people, and the respective countries that have being adversely impacted upon by this terrible plague of Xenophobia, Sadly to those whom have lost loved and dearest ones, my deepest sympathies and condolences to you and to your family. Please know that this action is on the part of a few – and is not, NOT and I repeat NOT supported by brands (or companies) in S.A.

I know that there could be some resentment, towards South Africa as a nation and towards the brands, and the respective countries that S.A trades with – I am truly apologetic about this and please understand that is the tumorous action and the doing is on the part of a few.

Remember that these citizens off the respective countries that are being attacked provided shelter for South Africa - in the time of need, especially when it was required the most.

When deeply embedded internalized anger becomes a volcanic eruption of blood-seeking-rage – know with this kind with anger of that magnitude, there is an abandonment of control, which is manifested in the actions off a few. Take the diligence, responsibility and the heed to understand this internalized anger in the present moment, as well as in the future and long term context.
