The Future of Brands Reloaded - Generation Next 2014

Dearest you,

As we proceed, remember whom you are, whom inspires you, remember what you are going to achieve – envision this as your as source of inspiration, remember the potential that you inherently have. Venture to dream boldly and distinctively for you – believe in those whom believe in you as much they believe in you. As the start of a new dawn arises, as the clock ticks along delivering the journey of present, and of the future tense, while aiming for the moon of an alternate universe. Remember to rehearse, live every verse as you have achieved it already.

The Generation Next 2014 is created by HDI Youth Marketeers, Waltons (whom are “breeding success” amazing motto) and Monash South Africa respectively. An amazing thank you goes to Jason and Mokebe for time and effort. Also thank you to all those whom worked in the gathering of this amazing insights.

“It’s important not to paint all youth with the same brush. There are very many differences between kids, teens, and young adults; and marketing to these groups may need some tailoring. The youth market is very tech-savvy and smart. They are prosumers (rather than consumers) who know and understand the concepts of value, and convenience, and can see right through brands who try to be “cool” but lack authenticity. Youth are not fans of hard-sell, and are likely to turn away any brand that gets the balance between value, and a great offering wrong.

This is something to keep in mind especially when trying to attract youth to your digital platform. Youth want to be engaged with as “equals”, or customers who know what they want.”

The Financial Power of the Youth Market:
This is based on the amalgamated spending power (i.e. the spending power are added-up)

In 2013 the amalgamated spending power was just over R105 Billion per annum. In 2014 the amalgamated spending power was in excess of R111 Billion.
