Dreams and Goals of Consumers from a Strategic Marketing Perspective
Greetings to you
A Dream is a preferably position. A Goal is the working towards achievement of that Dream
I must admitted I do spend a lot of time on Facebook, and
Linked – In identifying new Marketing trends and what is needed by
organizations
I have had the privilege and honour to interact with a
Durban based Strategic Marketing, Events, Branding and Conceptual Design
organization called Euphoria Communications (https://www.facebook.com/EuphoriaCommunications
) I was captivated by this quote that they posted
“People are driven
either by dreams or deadlines.” – Under 30 CEO
This is a great and true quote, I just had to thank Euphoria
Communications for sharing this quote so I responded by saying “Great quote
thanks for sharing. I believe that individuals are motivated by dreams and goals. And in Strategic Marketing finding
out these motivation factors –
provides key insights to an organization on how to connect and interact with
such individuals”
Well after listening to Dr John Demartini – I would replaced
the words “motivated, and motivation” with aspiring and aspirant factors, think about this as you are
reading this there are activities that as an individual you prefer and would do
the activity without be told to do anything for me that is Marketing, Digital
Marketing, Strategy, Innovation, Corporate Entrepreneurship/Venturing which is inspired by passion, then there are
activities that as an Individual would absolutely avoid, or being constantly
remind to do that activity –
My perspective is;
Parent says; “Go do your homework”
Then the child says: “Arggh five more minutes The Simpsons are on”
The child is more interested in The Simpsons than the homework, as tomorrow at school the children
are going to talk to their friends about what happened on The Simpsons and in the child’s mind that is more relevant to their
current situation and interest,
So as an organization relating to a Customers current
situation/s and experience/s encapsulates the relationship and bond between the
organization and the customer for e.g. When 1Time airlines liquated Absa was
there with the its clients by provided a refund of the airline tickets
purchased in a certain way – because as an organization they probably knew how
the passengers and their clients where feeling, and in addition Absa got a
mention via the News Networks in S.A = publicity
So an as organization
what do customer’s dreams and goals mean to you?
This means that individuals always aspire in life to achieve
greater and sometimes the dreams and goals are hidden (so as finding out what
their want in their life is a great journey) – so my perception of Strategic Marketing
is that venturing into that stream of potential it truly unique, you as an
organization would be more equipped to interact and engage with customers in
accordance to their situation, dreams and goals. Customers with view your brand
as part of their network, they would appreciate your brand and as a result
interacting and engage with your brand – but of course Business Processes and
Business Strategy would be re-adapted and re-defined
One of my core Dreams and Goals is; Being the Leader in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Strategy,
Innovation and Corporate Entrepreneurship/Venturing in Durban, then in South
Africa and then the World
